Xperiex Fire Alarm Project Engineering
Services
We address all aspects of the fire alarm
project. While some manufacturers and distributors will prepare "drawings
and submittals", this is only part of the package. There are
other concerns which- when not clarified early- can cause those legendary
"fire alarm nightmares". Some examples are:
Placement of conduit and/or cable
in the correct fire-rated areas.
Union jurisdiction and work rules regarding fire alarm work.
Specific local requirements not known to the system vendor.
Organization and Planning of Project
We prepare and submit a complete package
of documents for approval by the
Project Engineer and local Authority Having Jurisdiction(AHJ).
We prepare re-submittals, if necessary,
to obtain approval. Activities shall include any or all of the following,
as appropriate:
Careful study of project bid documents,
addenda, and RFI's to assess
project requirements.
Communication with your customer or
the design engineer to verify complete understanding of the project
scope.
Communication with the local Authority
Having Jurisdiction(AHJ) to insure
complete understanding of all unique requirements- perhaps some
not covered by the specifications.
Note- Communication with any parties
to the project will be directed through you, our client, unless unless
you approve direct communication between Xperiex and other parties.
Drawings and Submittals at Beginning of
Project
Preparation of design drawings in a
standard CAD format. If required,
design drawings will be prepared and certified under the auspices
of a
certified or registered fire alarm professional.
Assembly of technical data sheets,
standby battery calculations, NAC
voltage drop calculations, operating sequence tables and other required
documents. Documents will be neatly bound and logically organized
for ease
of use.
Note- You (or the architect/engineer)
will provide drawing backgrounds in CAD format. You will
provide the fire alarm manufacturer's up-to-date data sheets and technical
data, for use in preparation of submittal documentation.
During and at Conclusion of Project
Telephone technical support to your
field installers/technicians throughout the project.
Preparation of "as built"
drawings and documents at project completion.
Submittal to you of a complete project
design file, including
written correspondence and telephone conversation notes.
Any required follow-up communications
for a period of up to six months
after acceptance of "as built" documents.
Invoicing and Payment
Invoices will be submitted on a periodic
basis for progress payments.
Invoice amounts will be based on percent completion of the work.
A final invoice for 100 percent of the
contract amount, will be submitted upon acceptance of the "as-built"
documents. The following milestones and percentages will be used to
compute progress payment invoices:
Project set up- 20% Due at the
beginning of the contract
Drawings and Documents preparation-
60% Due upon submittal
"As-built" documents
and design file- 20% Due upon submittal
